In 2000 she founded, along with Dorian Rence (violist, NY Philharmonic), The Artemis Project, a nonprofit animal rescue organization in NYC. She is currently on their board and has both performed at and helped to organize various benefit events aimed at raising money for stray and abandoned animals. Ms. Moon is also a supporter of Celebrate Life Half Marathon, a non profit road race whose main objective is to assist cancer patients with the financial and related burdens of treatment and care. In June of 2012, Eileen formed the auxiliary group Friends of Warwick Valley Humane Society (www.alwaysforanimals.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for neglected, abandoned and stray animals in the Warwick Valley through educational and creative seminars and performances.
An avid distance runner, Ms. Moon is also creator of MusicALEXA, a running team with charitable goals.
